Abstracts & Posters

The program committee of the SDPA Annual Summer Dermatology Conference is calling for Abstract submissions. The submission deadline is March 27, 2018.

A maximum of four (4) Abstract submissions are permitted per individual or organization.

Abstracts are independently reviewed by the CME Review Panel and accepted based on scientific value and educational need. The presentation of new concepts and unique observations are an integral part of the Conference’s continuing education program.

You may submit 8.5” x 11” handouts of the abstract or related poster for review. Approved abstracts will be posted on this conference website under “Conference Materials” and within the conference mobile app.

Abstract Format Guidelines

Fee: No fee for initial submission and review. However, should your abstract not be approved by the CME Review Panel, organizations/individuals will be allowed to present their abstract via PDF document on the SDPA conference website under “Conference Materials” and within the conference mobile app automatically unless indicated otherwise by the applicant on the ABSTRACTS AND POSTERS SUBMISSION FORM. Virtual Abstract/Poster submissions will be charged a fee of $150 for companies/industry and $75 for non-member PAs. There is NO charge for SDPA Members and Student Members.

Page Format: Abstracts must be submitted as a Microsoft Word or PDF document. Margins: 1 inch top, bottom, left and right, single spaced; laser printer quality.

Font: Font size must be Arial, 12 point

Length: 500-word maximum. When finished with your abstract, count the words to ensure you have not exceeded the prescribed limit.

The abstract should contain the following: a) introduction that states the purpose of the study; b) a brief description of the procedure/study; c) a brief description of the results; and d) conclusion.

Tables or illustrations may not be included in abstracts. Abstracts will NOT be displayed on easel or stands.

Credit cards will be charged only when and if abstracts are not approved and participants indicate they wish to have their abstract on Virtual Display as outlined above.

Approved abstracts will be posted on the SDPA conference website under “Conference Materials” and within the conference mobile app.

Poster Format and Guidelines

Poster Submission Fee: A fee of $300.00 per poster is required from each company/industry presenting. Fee covers: poster stand rental, delivery, setup, removal, and state tax of poster stands.  Non-member PA fee is $100. There is NO charge for SDPA Members and Student Members. Poster must be the standard roll-up 4’ wide x 2’ high poster that is adhered using pushpins. Four posters per stand will be placed and you understand there may be a need to share poster stand with other companies.

Poster deadline submission to include in the conference mobile app is May 28, 2018.

Poster panels MUST be 4’ wide x 2’ high. Posters must not exceed these dimensions. Posters exceeding these dimensions WILL NOT be allowed or placed on poster stands.

Author: Include all authors, Affiliation

Commercialism: Any display at the SDPA Annual Summer Dermatology Conference in which the cost is underwritten by a pharmaceutical company or other entity must avoid commercialism. Drugs, instrumentation, or devices are not to use trade names. If such situations occur, the exhibit is responsible to identify and clearly state on the display that a portion or portions of the cost were provided by the commercial company named.

Responsibility for Damage and Loss: The Westin, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, Events Made Simple, LTD are not responsible for any damage, destruction, loss or theft of items or property before, during or after the dates and times of the conference at any location within or near the exhibit hall property.  Representatives will make no claim and will hold harmless the aforementioned entities of the conference.

Poster Set-Up, Breakdown, & Display Schedule

Set-Up Schedule:    

Thursday, June 28, 2018 | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Breakdown Schedule:

Saturday, June 30, 2018 | 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Posters will be on display for viewing in pre-function area.

Thursday, June 28 – Friday, June 29 and Saturday, June 30

Poster numbers are not assigned.  We will place “Company Name” as indicated on your submission form on the poster stand.

We place four (4) posters on each stand and you understand there will be a need to share poster stand with other companies.

DO NOT remove placement of posters assigned by SDPA. Each representative is responsible for setting up posters and discarding any trash as well as responsible for removing their posters during breakdown schedule time.

Please remove your posters from the display area between the hours of 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 30, 2018.  Posters must be removed by 5:00 PM.  You are not allowed to remove your poster until 4:00 PM; failure to comply with this request may result in the loss of poster privileges at future meetings. Any posters that are not removed or left behind will be discarded by the hotel.

SHIPPING ~ POSTERS ONLY

If you have posters to be shipped to the hotel, you must address your materials to the NAME of the Poster on-site representative in the following manner. SDPA Conference Management staff will NOT accept any deliveries on behalf of Poster on-site representative.
