The SDPA offers a number of special events during each of its conferences. Below is a list of events at our 16th Annual Fall Dermatology Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Arrival Reception – Halloween Themed!

Date/Time: Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 – 5:00 to 7:00 PM
Located in Tuscan Ballroom Foyer and Citrus Piazza

The kick-off of this year’s annual Fall conference happens to fall on Halloween, October 31, 2018. We hope you and your family will join us [in costume!] at our Halloween themed Arrival Reception. We’ll have spooky decorations and trick-or-treating for kids, and adults, as well as costume contests for the spookiest kids costume, the most creative kids costume, the spookiest adult costume, and the most creative adult costume!

Badges and tickets must be presented for entry.

Registered attendees may register free of charge, however, a fee applies for guests. Each attendee may bring a maximum of four guests. The fee is $40 per guest; $20 for children aged 3-9; children ages 2 and younger are free. No refunds for purchased tickets will be made after October 29, 2018.

VIP Reception

Located at Universal CityWalk™ at Universal Orlando Resort™

The SDPA VIP Reception is a unique evening honoring our exceptional SDPA Diplomates, Leaders, Industry Partners, and Faculty. This exclusive, by invitation only, event includes food and drinks served from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the NBC Sports Grill & Brew™ located at Universal CityWalk™. The SDPA has rented out the 2nd floor just for you! Following dinner, we will take the short 5 minute walk over to the Universal Orlando Theatre to watch the Blue Man Group perform. The main entrance to the theatre is located between Hard Rock Cafe and the entrance to Universal Studios. We should arrive 30 minutes prior to showtime. The show starts at 8:00pm, and is 1 hour and 45 minutes with no intermission.

Water taxis are available to and from the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. Badges and tickets must be presented for entry.

Please Note: Due to space limitations, ALL invited attendees may register only one (1) guest who must be 18 years of age or older to attend at a fee of $40. Please provide the full name of your guest in your email. Tickets will not be available for purchase onsite; you must RSVP now. There will be no refunds for no shows or cancellations.

All attendees and their guests MUST present photo ID if they plan to consume alcohol. We can’t wait to see you there!

Farewell RECEPTION

Date/Time: Saturday, November 2nd – 5:30 to 7:00 PM
Located in Tuscan Ballroom Foyer

Join us on Saturday evening for the Farewell Reception immediately after the last lecture concludes. Enjoy snacks and beverages as you connect with all the great people you’ve met during the conference! This is a great way to cap off your conference experience and perhaps meet a few more friends and colleagues before you go.

DPAF 3rd Annual Silent Auction
Benefiting Camp Wonder

DPAFEach fall the DPAF hosts an annual silent auction in honor of the Children Skin Disease Foundation (CSDF) Camp Wonder. Camp Wonder is a 1-week summer camp for children is severe to life-threatening skin diseases. It provides children with the unique opportunity to just be a kid away from the prying eyes of the public and those who may not understand their condition. The camp houses all children and provides 24/7 medical staff to ensure the health and safety of children during their stay. Each year the Foundation sets a goal of raising $20,000 from the proceeds of the Silent Auction. This goal allows us to sponsor 10 deserving children to attend camp as well as 2 PA volunteers. As part of our missing to provide philanthropic opportunities for PAs in dermatology, we send two PAs to volunteer and provide each with a travel stipend so all they have to do is ensure they can be present during the week is hosted.

This year the DPAF will be hosting it’s 3rd Annual Silent Auction in honor of Camp Wonder. Our 2017 auction was a huge success despite the unfortunate cancellation the SDPA’s 15th Annual Fall Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Help us make 2018 our biggest success yet! We are excited to continue to offer fantastic auction items ranging from trips to dermatology educational tools, concert tickets, art, wine, jewelry, and so much more! This is your one-stop-shop for all your shopping need.

The auction opens online October 15 and closes November 3, 2018. We will be auctioning off special items specific to the Orlando area and the conference itself. These items will have earlier close dates so you can take full advantage of your winning item while at the conference! So be sure to mark the date and win big! All net proceeds go to Camp Wonder so not only do you win, but the campers win!

The SDPA is pleased to have been offering attendees with complimentary professional headshots for the past few years. This year we are taking things up a notch! To make sure you get the most out of this benefit, we will hire a photographer who specializes in headshots. To make sure you look your best, the photographer will have a stylist on site to provide light hair and makeup for touch up before each shoot if desired. Each participant will receive up to 7 curated images within 2-3 weeks after the conferences.

Be sure to coordinate your wardrobe for the day you plan to visit the headshot studio. The SDPA will provide white lab coats in various sizes for both men and women to wear during the shoot. To ensure everyone has a chance to get their photo taken, you may be limited to 7 photos.
