Abstracts & Posters

The planning committee of the SDPA 16th Annual Fall Dermatology Conference is calling for Abstract submissions. The submission deadline is August 31, 2018.

A maximum of four (4) abstract submissions is permitted per individual/organization.

Abstracts are independently reviewed by the CME Review Panel and accepted based on scientific value and educational need. The presentation of new concepts and unique observations are an integral part of the Conference’s continuing education program. If approved you will be able to display your poster and have your abstract printed in the attendee’s Scientific Abstracts & Posters publication.

You must submit 8.5” x 11” handouts of the abstract and related poster for review in MICROSOFT WORD DOCUMENT and PDF file formats. Approved abstracts and posters will be posted on the SDPA’s conference website, www.sdpaconferences.org, and will be accessible through the conference mobile app.

Abstract Format Guidelines

Page Format: Abstracts must be submitted for review in MICROSOFT WORD DOCUMENT and PDF file formats. Margins: 1 inch top, bottom, left and right, single-spaced; laser printer quality.

Font: Font size must be Arial, 12 point

Length: 500 word maximum, includes title, author names, author affiliations and references. When finished with your abstract, count the words to ensure you have not exceeded the prescribed limit.

The abstract should contain the following: a) introduction that states the purpose of the study; b) a brief description of the procedure/study; c) a brief description of the results; and d) conclusion.

Tables or illustrations may not be included in abstracts. Abstracts will NOT be displayed on easel or stands.

Submit to: Abstract submissions must be sent via e-mail to conferences@dermpa.org and MUST include payment form.

All APPROVED abstracts will be posted on the SDPA’s conference website, www.sdpaconferences.org, and will be accessible through the conference mobile app.

Poster Format and Guidelines

Poster Submission Fee: Fee covers: poster stand rental, delivery, setup, removal, and state tax of poster stands. Poster must be the standard roll-up 4’ wide x 2’ high poster that is adhered using pushpins. A separate one page PDF version of your poster should be submitted with your abstract if it is to be available for conference attendees on www.sdpaconferences.org and the conference mobile app. Four (4) posters per stand will be placed and you understand there may be a need to share poster stand with other companies.

Should your poster NOT be approved by the CME Review Panel, organizations/individuals will be allowed to present their poster via PDF document on the SDPA website www.sdpaconferences.org and conference mobile app automatically unless indicated otherwise by the applicant on the ABSTRACTS AND POSTERS SUBMISSION FORM. Virtual Abstract/Poster submissions will be charged a fee of $150 for companies/industry, $75 for non-member PAs, and is NO charge for SDPA Members and Student Members.

Poster deadline submission to include in Event App is September 30th, 2018.

Poster panels MUST be 4’ wide x 2’ high. Posters must not exceed these dimensions. Posters exceeding these dimensions WILL NOT be allowed or placed on poster stands.

Author: Include all authors, Affiliation

Commercialism: Any display at the SDPA 16th Annual Fall Dermatology Conference in which the cost is underwritten by a pharmaceutical company or other entity must avoid commercialism. Drugs, instrumentation, or devices are not to use trade names. If such situations occur, the exhibit is responsible to identify and clearly state on the display that a portion or portions of the cost were provided by the commercial company named.

Responsibility for Damage and Loss: The Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and Events Made Simple, LTD are not responsible for any damage, destruction, loss or theft of items or property before, during or after the dates and times of the conference at any location within or near the exhibit hall property. Representatives will make no claim and will hold harmless the aforementioned entities of the conference.

Poster Set-Up, Breakdown, & Display Schedule

Set-Up Schedule:    

Thursday, November 1, 2018 | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Breakdown Schedule:

Saturday, November 3, 2018 | 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Posters will be on display for viewing in conference area.

Thursday, November 1st – Friday, November 2nd and Saturday, November 3rd 

Poster numbers are not assigned. We will place “Company Name” as indicated on your submission form on the poster stand. We place four (4) posters on each stand and you understand there will be a need to share poster stand with other companies. DO NOT remove placement of posters assigned by SDPA. Each representative is responsible for setting up posters and discarding any trash as well as responsible for removing their posters during breakdown schedule time.

Please remove your posters from the display area between the hours of 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018. Posters must be removed by 5:00 PM. You are not allowed to remove your poster until 4:00PM; failure to comply with this request may result in the loss of poster privileges at future meetings. Any posters that are not removed or left behind will be discarded by the hotel.

If you have posters to be shipped to the hotel, you must address your materials to the NAME of the poster on-site representative in the following manner. SDPA Conference Management staff will NOT accept any deliveries on behalf of poster on-site representative.
